**English Below** Het Erasmus Studentenkoor Rotterdamsch Schoon is beschikbaar voor diverse opdrachten: variërend van een optreden tijdens een korenfestival tot een gezellige vrijdagmiddagborrel op het werk… voor elke gelegenheid is ons koor te boeken voor een gezellige, muzikale invulling.
Het verhaal van ons koor
We zeggen vaak: onze dirigent heeft het maar zwaar. Rond de 35 jonge meiden leden en elke vijf jaar een volledig nieuw koor voor je neus hebben. Rotterdamsch Schoon is een zangvereniging voor studentes in Rotterdam, nationaal en internationaal. We zoeken elkaar op voor de gezelligheid, maar vooral om samen muziek te maken. We zingen 3 of 4 stemmig. Ons bestuur en onze commissie wisselen ook bijna jaarlijks. Er is dus altijd sprake van nieuwe ideeën, optimalisering, energie en enthousiasme. Wij zijn alles behalve ‘saai’, zoals de vooroordelen van koren vaak zijn. We hebben al vele mooie dingen mogen doen, zoals optreden met Tania Kross in het Concertgebouw en zingen op het hoofdpodium van Ahoy tijdens de Young Impact Awards!
Samenwerkingen en repertoire
Naast zingen vinden we het ook leuk om samenwerkingen aan te gaan met andere verenigingen en organisaties. Zoals een samenwerking met het Rotterdams Studentenorkest.
Ons repertoire varieert, maar we zingen voornamelijk pop. We doen wel af en toe uitstapjes naar volksliederen of bijvoorbeeld musical en regelmatig een klassieker uit de popmuziek.
Zomerconcerten
Elk jaar sluiten we af met onze eigen zomerconcerten op de Campus in Rotterdam. Alle commissies en het bestuur gaan hard aan de slag om twee geweldige avonden te organiseren. Tijdens deze concerten zingen wij ons hele repertoire. Daarnaast proberen we altijd wat extra’s te doen. Afgelopen jaar hebben we bijvoorbeeld zelf liedjes ingestudeerd in kleinere groepjes.

Wat ons koor zo bijzonder maakt, is de vrijheid die we hebben, de energie, de muzikaliteit en de inzet van alle meiden. Samen zetten we elk jaar een geweldige prestatie neer, ondanks het feit dat iedereen ook nog eens fulltime studeert of werkt. Echt een koor om trots op te zijn!

The Erasmus Student Choir Rotterdamsch Schoon is available for all kinds of tasks: varying from performing at a choir festival to a nice Friday-evening drink at work… for every occasion our choir can provide a lovely and musical addition.
The story of our choir
We love to say: our conductor has a hard job for himself. Conducting about 35 girls and having a completely new choir every 5 years can be quite a challenge! Rotterdamsch Schoon is a singing association for students in Rotterdam, national and international students are welcome. We love the happy atmosphere, but what binds us mostly is our passion for music and singing. We sing 3- or 4-voiced and our board and committees switch almost yearly. This means that there is always room for innovative ideas, optimisation, energy and enthusiasm. We are everything but a ‘boring’ choir, as is a common misconception about choirs. We have had lots of great opportunities as a choir such as performing with Tania Kross in the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and performing in Ahoy on the main stage for the Young Impact Awards.
Collaborations and repertoire
Besides singing we love to collaborate with the associations and organizations, like a collaboration with the Erasmus Student Orchestra.
Our repertoire varies, but we mostly sing pop songs. We do love making excursions to other genres such as traditional folk songs, musical or a good old pop classic.
Summer concerts
We end every year with two wonderful summer concerts on the campus of the Erasmus University. All our committees and the board work together to organise two mind-blowing nights filled where we perform our full repertoire of that year. Besides that we love to do something extra as well and smaller groups of members can perform intermezzos which they have practiced all by themselves.
